Explore Vietnam: what to do around Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam is a country of breath-taking natural beauty with a unique heritage. Delegates can take time before or after the Summit to explore the country. ​Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam's largest city. It is a vibrant city situated on the banks of the Saigon River. Explore the museums and Cu Chi Tunnels to understand the history of the country. Shop in the many markets, sample the street food or explore the arts, architecture and pagodas of the city. There is much to do in Ho Chi Minh City. Find out more here.

Registration opens for the ILDS World Skin Summit 2018

We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2nd ILDS World Skin Summit. 

 

The Summit is unique opportunity for the leadership of ILDS Member Societies to come together to consider and develop strategies to improve skin health at local, national, regional and global levels.

Please register by 28 February 2018.

The ILDS Bursary Programme

The ILDS has a global reach and is committed to encouraging the participation of Member Societies from all world regions. It aims to support Member Societies that would otherwise not be able to attend the Summit.

 

The Bursary Programme aims to identify and support representatives from Member Societies who would benefit from attending the Summit and have demonstrated a commitment to contributing to the work of the ILDS; such as the ICD-11 Review, Global Psoriasis Atlas, World Skin Health Day campaign, NTDs or the IFD. Priority will be given to representatives from Member Societies in resource poor regions.


Bursary applicants can apply for an award of up to either US$500 or US$1000 to go towards the costs of attending the Summit. The bursary fund is limited and all decisions will be made subject to available funding. Unsuccessful applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

Applications must be submitted by 28 February 2018 to info@ilds.org

Meet the Summit Local Collaborating Organisations

The International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) is pleased to announce that we will be working with two local collaborating organisations in Vietnam: The Vietnamese Society of Dermatology and Venerology, and the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermato-Venerology.

Vietnam is a country with a unique heritage and plenty of opportunities for those attending the 2nd ILDS World Skin Summit to learn more about this fascinating region. Attendees can take time before or after the Summit to explore the country. 

 

We look forward to welcoming you to Ho Chi Minh City in 2018.

World Skin Summit Programme Chair & Co-Chairs Selected

The Chair and Co-Chairs for the World Skin Summit Programme Committee have been selected. ILDS President, Professor Harvey Lui, will be the Committee Chair. He will be ably assisted by Professor Jean Bolognia and Professor Brigitte Dréno as the two Co-Chairs. 

The Summit Programme will focus on key issues and strategies relevant to the ILDS’ Member Societies. In addition to considering current important specific dermatological conditions, it will explore the evolving role of dermatologists and the scope of service delivery for skin disorders by other health professionals and providers. The Summit will also address priority issues of the International Foundation for Dermatology (www.ifd.org), the humanitarian arm of the ILDS, such as rare or neglected diseases and underserved patients in resource-poor settings.

 

The Programme Committee will be actively consulting Member Societies and regional representatives to develop the final Programme. We will share more details about how you can be involved shortly.

2nd ILDS World Skin Summit Announced

The International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) is delighted to announce that the 2nd ILDS World Skin Summit will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 10-12 June 2018.

The Summit is a special and unique global event that will involve the leaders of ILDS Member Societies. The goal is to work together towards a vision of attaining the best possible skin health for all people around the world. It will provide an educational forum for sharing and discussion, enabling leaders in dermatology to consider and develop strategies to improve skin health at local, national, regional and global levels.

 

The first Summit, held in 2012, attracted over 100 delegates from ILDS Member Societies. Dermatology leaders from a diverse range of expertise and geographic regions attended the event to identify and set common goals for skin health.
