About the Summit

The ILDS World Skin Summit is a special and unique global event that involves the leaders of ILDS Members. The goal is to work together towards a vision of attaining the best possible skin health for all people around the world. The Summit provides a forum for sharing and discussion, enabling leaders in dermatology to consider and develop strategies to improve skin health at local, national, regional and global levels. The ILDS’ growing membership of 195 organisations from over 80 countries is represented at the Summit by their Presidents and Officers, thereby bringing together highly influential experts from the world of dermatology. Collectively they represent the geographical diversity of ILDS’ membership. Through an interactive programme with plenary and workshop sessions and social activities the Summit:

  • Identifies challenges and develops skills and knowledge to tackle challenges in different country and/or disease areas

  • Offers fellow dermatology leaders the opportunity to share experiences and strengthen networks

  • Develops common strategies to improve global skin health

  • Shares the latest information about ILDS strategies, projects and collaborations and opportunities for engagement

This will be the third ILDS Summit. The first Summit was held in Germany in 2012, the second took place in Vietnam in 2018 and attracted over 120 delegates from ILDS Members. We look forward to welcoming you to Lima, Peru, in 2021.

  • What are the costs of attending the Summit?
    Registration - Registration to attend the Summit is complimentary but is via ILDS invitation only. Registration will include attendance at sessions and refreshments during the Summit. Travel and accommodation – Delegates and/or their Societies will need to cover the travel, accommodation and any other costs of attendance.
  • I don’t need funding to attend. Can I or my Society make a donation towards the ILDS Bursary Fund?
    Yes, we would gratefully receive any contributions towards the Bursary Fund. Your contributions will make it possible for those who would otherwise not be able to participate to attend. Please contact us on office@ilds.org for more details.
  • How can I register to attend the Summit?
    You register online through the website.
  • How many delegates can attend from each Member Society?
    Up to three delegates from each Member Society can attend (subject to availability). The President of each Society is guaranteed a place. Societies may wish to also send one other Officer or Board representative and the head of the secretariat such as an Executive Director or the equivalent.
  • How can I keep up-to date with information about the Summit?
    We will send updates to Member Societies and designated individuals on key developments. You can also ‘like’ ILDS on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. #WorldSkinSummit
  • Will I get the opportunity for sightseeing?
    There are fantastic opportunities for sightseeing in Ho Chi Minh City and we would recommend that you extend your trip to explore. We will be providing information on sightseeing excursions and tours that you can participate in.
  • Who will attend?
    Summit attendance is exclusively open to official leaders of ILDS Member Societies.
  • Is there any funding support to attend?
    There is a limited Bursary Fund which is designed to support Member representatives who would not otherwise have any other way to fund their attendance, especially those from low income countries. Only one delegate from each qualifying ILDS Member Society can apply to the Bursary Fund. You can find more details on the Registration page.
  • What is the working language of the Summit?
    The working language of the Summit is English.
